INFORMATION CENTRES
Exmoor National Park Authority has an agreement with a number of proprietors of village shops and tourism outlets to provide basic information about their immediate location and services offered by the Authority.
This means that you can obtain basic National Park information and literature while purchasing provisions or using post office facilities during your stay. These shops and outlets are located in hamlets and villages throughout Exmoor where other services are limited and are often the centre of village life and a lifeline to many.
Using the village shops will help to keep them viable. Proprietors will do all they can to assist, however, should you require more detailed information about the National Park please contact one of the Centres
Exmoor National Park has several visitor centres to help you get active and explore.
Right across the area there is a network of
Tourist Information and Visitor Centres. They are conveniently located
throughout the towns, villages and resorts, and helpful and fully trained
staff are on hand with a wealth of local knowledge. Whatever your needs
might be, the Tourist Information and Visitor Centres will surely help.
As well as finding accommodation for you either in the local area or
in the wider region, staff at these centres can arrange, for example,
bus or Boat trips, Bureau de Change, fishing permits and guided walks
of their local area. All Centres stock a range of free leaflets on attractions,
events and activities as well as maps, books and souvenirs.
