RHS Garden Rosemoor is sSituated in the beautiful Torridge Valley, Rosemoor has matured into a garden of national importance, acclaimed by gardeners everywhere and acknowledged as one of the most exciting horticultural accomplishments of recent years.
Rosemoor is rich in its variety: the Formal Garden demonstrates a wide range of planting styles in a series of individual gardens, with a wealth of ideas to inspire visitors. There are two rose gardens with over 200 varieties, for modern and shrub roses respectively. Two colour theme gardens are planted to contrasting effect: the Spiral Garden with a soft, pastel planting, and the Square Garden's searingly hot colour scheme.
Ever popular are the Cottage Garden, Herb Garden and the Potager, where decorative vegetable planting is demonstrated. Two distinctive themes are the Foliage Garden, with leaf form and colour dominant, and the Winter Garden, richly colourful during the darkest days of the year. Three model gardens demonstrate different design solutions for the average domestic plot.
Other attractions include a Stream Garden and Lake, a richly productive Fruit and Vegetable garden, and Lady Anne Berry's original garden around Rosemoor House'.
All this is set within parkland surrounded by newly developed woodland walks.
Set deep in the lovely North Devon countryside RHS Garden Rosemoor has now come of age as a garden of national importance. Lady Anne Berry gifted Rosemoor to the RHS 11 years ago, since when the original eight acres have been greatly developed. To the huge range of plants collected by Lady Anne, the RHS has added features such as the Formal Garden, extensive herbaceous borders, herb and cottage gardens, a potager, the Foliage and Plantsman's Garden and extensive stream and lakeside plantings. Recent additions include the Mediterranean and semi-tropical plantings which have been thriving during the recent long hot summers and the newly planted winter Garden. But what is perhaps the most popular feature of this delightful garden is the extensive rose garden, proving beyond doubt the lie that the West Country cannot produce beautiful roses.
The Royal Horticultural Society - RHS Rosemoor Gardens are situated just outside Great Torrington and feature a winter Garden, Bog Garden, Cottage Garden, Fruit and Vegetable Garden and over two thousand roses. There is an extensive gardening and gift shop, refreshment facilities and plant sales.

The Fame of 2000 roses in 200 varieties is spreading - and rightly so, for they are truly a magnificent sight. There are beds of tender perennials, a quarter of a mile of herbaceous borders; contrasting beds of hot and cool colours, a newly planted winter Garden and spectacular Plantsman's and Foliage Garden with its bamboos, grasses and carefully selected shrubs of fine architectural form. There is a stream that rushes through a 'new' rock gorge planted with ferns and bamboos, then meanders through the bog garden before tumbling down into a magnificent lake.
