As a non-commercial Community web site we rely totally on people in the community to send us information and photos that will add to other people's knowledge of Exmoor and its surrounding area. Many thanks to the thousands of people who have contributed information so far to Everything Exmoor.Do you know the history of a particular place or have a story to tell about a local character? If so please send it along.
The club has been established for fifty
years, but is rumoured that its Wootton
Courtenay ground has been the home of Exmoor archery for many centuries. West
Somerset Company of Archer’s outdoor facilities are unique and
are located in the Exmoor
National Park with a backdrop of Dunkery
Beacon.
The club offers a friendly environment
to learn and undertake archery. A wide range of internal tournaments
encourages both beginners and experienced archers to develop and the
club has several qualified coaches. Our members also have an unparalleled
opportunity to take part in the annual Dunster Archery week, held each
year in the grounds of Dunster Castle.
Our members use a range of bows, from the Recurve bow used
in the Olympic games, to the high tech. Compound bow, and of course the
Old English Longbow.
